Welcome to Little Cedar Lake!
Our beautiful, 246-acre glacial lake is located in Washington County, nestled in the rolling landscape of the Kettle Moraine. Formed during the Wisconsin Glaciation, its pristine waters are home to a diverse ecosystem that includes fish species such as largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie, walleye, yellow perch, and northern pike. Little Cedar's wooded shores are home to a variety of bird species, most notably majestic Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Belted Kingfishers, and various songbirds, ducks, and shorebirds; as well as white-tailed deer, muskrats, turtles, and a chorus of frogs and other amphibians. It’s a small but ecologically rich waterbody that represents the enduring legacy of Wisconsin’s glacial past and is an important wildlife refuge.
The Little Cedar Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District (LCLPRD) was created to preserve and protect the natural environment and quality of life on Little Cedar Lake and the surrounding community, which consists of about 250 properties in the watershed.
The LCLPRD is a government taxing body created in accordance with Chapter 33 of the Wisconsin Statutes for the primary purpose of protecting and rehabilitating Little Cedar Lake. Its Board of Commissioners consists of three elected commissioners and representatives appointed by the Town of West Bend Chair and the Washington County Executive. The LCLPRD Board meets at the Town of West Bend Town Hall, usually on the first Monday of the month.
